I sat by the Lindisfarne Causeway watching the tide come in--it is fast and many motorists cut it rather fine to get across. I found myself down on the sands, mesmorised by the beauty of the scenery and the wildlife--I was thinking what is the collective for swans--Google tells me it is a 'bevy'--well they were gracefully feeding on the incoming tide and I could haave watched them for hours. Whilst waiting for the tide to come in the child emerged from inside as I ran around in concentric circles and then took pics of the tide washing my footprints away. Holy Island is a deeply spiritual place so I couldn't resist pondering the symbolism of this childish act!
